Now What

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketDid you ever have a post in mind and then something didn't work out just right so you weren't able to use it? Well that happens to me all of the time. Just did again, too. I wanted to share a picture of the pumpkin pie that I had made along with the pinwheels out of the extra dough. I have to say, this crust was pretty darn good (I say still not as flaky but my father said it was delicious.) The pinwheels came out perfect! So anyway, proud of this elusive crust we took a picture. And in the digital camera it was just that - picture perfect. Then when we tried to download (or upload I never remember) the picture had a split screen and it was unusable. AARGH!

Now from there I started thinking now what am I going to write. And that thought lead to thinking that this happens to other people too. Which morphed into well maybe that's why people don't update their blog everyday. Why don't people update everyday? Could it be they have a life outside of their blog? Gasp! Could it be they're tired? Nothing to say? Picture didn't turn out? Or just too busy?

I love reading the new posts from everyone. And when someone doesn't share a new one for more than a day - the worrier in me sets in. Did something happen? Is everything all right? Did someone get sick? Or worse - have they given up blogging???? OH NO! That's it. They have given it up. Too much time and energy. WHY OH WHY? Why did this have to happen?? I was a loyal reader and commenter and poof - it's done? Just like that?

Then lo an behold - the next day or so a new posting appears. And I do my little happy dance. So and So is back! She didn't quit. She didn't give up. She came. I feel like the Grinch on Christmas morning and I too break the little heart-measuring device. Then I picture my blogging friends ceremoniously standing hand-in-hand whilst singing: Fah-who-for-aze, Dah-who-dor-aze - Welcome Blogger - Come this way!

A creature of habit will never understand why things are done the same way, every day. I hate change. And I know that change is good and blah blah blah. But, reading through the blogs, perusing the pictures, laughing at the stories, getting new ideas - it's all part of my daily routine. Some people don't have a routine. They wing it so to speak. Well God bless em. But have no fear. If you ever wondered if people notice you haven't updated your blog - I did.

Julie...I just love you...I really do...you always make me LOL in a quiet sleepy house first thing in the morning!!! My weekends are absolutely NUTTY so I don't blog so much on the w/e but I do like to visit all my blog friends while having coffee on Sat & Sun. I don't like TV much and the blogs are much more entertaining.
I'm sorry about the split screen...did that happen while you were sizing it in photoshop-if so it's normal and comes up with only one pic when you upload it.
Blessings, Robin

Don't you hate it when a picture doesn't turn out? Mine will look fine in the camera, then be fuzzy on the screen.
If I'm not posting, is because I'm to busy! I'll get it on there eventually.

Your posts are so spot on! Yes, I worry about when someone hasn't posted, but sometimes they will give ya a heads up that they will be busy and not on line for awhile. That is ok, too.

Part of my day is to read what others have posted, however I don't always get to everyone..just not enough time in the day for that annnnndddd other things that must be done!

Have a great week Julie!

muah!

I feel like I have so many "blog" friends that I do know their routines and how often they blog! I think my husband is starting to think I'm a bit crazy because I start telling him what someone said as if I just saw them that day! But I don't know what I'd do without everyone!!! It is a great group of people we all share with :)

Julie that's such a great post! I'm like you, I try to read blogs daily, it's part of my relaxation time! And how great that you've been friends with your husband for so long!

Ya make me laugh! Always so real!!! I am loving this blogging, but I can only blog two or three times a week at the most due to the job, hubby, kids, dogs, house, painting my toe nails, etc. Let me tell you, I always enjoy checking in with you and seeing your new posts! Love, Esther

Love this post! I know how much I miss it when my blog peeps don't post for awhile, but I never thought that anyone other than the blog fairy missed me when I don't post. When that happens it's usually because life has gotten in the way! Another obsticle to posting regularly is that I don't feel like I have anything interesting to say. That's when I need to remind myself that blogging has value to me even if I'm my only "audience"!

Hi Julie, oh I don't post often... and my lack of posts is because I work long hours (I am a work-at-home mom) and if I could...I would love to do just this... blogging, cooking and wood crafts!

I'm cracking up over here imagining the hand holding and singing of that song! I needed that. It's so much a part of my day too and I find myself telling people "my friend so and so did such and such"...this little community has become such a special part of my day. I do struggle with cruddy photos though so I can really relate to that! Speaking of which I better get something posted!

Hugs,
Dena

I get obsessed with reading people's blogs. I usually read them on Thur, Fri, and Sun. So that's when you will usually get my comments. :-)
