Some new things - some old things
I wanted to share a few photos of my lovely new stars. I love them and I have them all over the place. These are just 2 of the new ones I have found recently. Slowly but surely I am changing my living room over to Americana. I have always loved that style and I'm not really sure why I didn't decorate that way in the first place! Oh well, better late than never. You can't really tell in the picture, but the sconces are rod iron and they were my latest purchase. I absolutely love them! I also want to remind you about the Rooster/Welcome sign giveaway we're having here this weekend. If you would like to be entered, just be sure to post your comment here first and then every day you leave a comment on the current post, we'll enter your name in the drawing again. Remember, the drawing will be Sunday so you can enter until Saturday. Don't forget about the Deck the Halls sale going on at Nunnie's Attic, Inc. You can save an additional 10%.
One more thing, take a moment and look at Mommy's new blog. It's all about entertainment news for those of us who indulge in that guilty pleasure. Everyday there's something new going on.
And thank you all for your sweet comments and support yesterday. I have no idea what was wrong. About 3:00 it just started working. I can't figure these things out. I think it may be a conspiracy to send me to the rubber room. I've seen the men with the little white jackets lurking around. Thanks again!!
Oh and today - I'm baking banana bread! Can't you just smell it?
Glad you're back on! Just keep telling yourself, "It could be a lot worse!". I personally hate technology but at the same time am addicted to blogs! My husband also works in the technology field so I should try to be nicer about it! naah.
Glad things are better today. Computers can be such a pain. It is funny how it takes a while to find the style that truly fits one, doesn't it? I started with Americana (one bathroom still is) but have been converting over to more of a cottage style. It's all about what speaks to you. Hope to see more photos of your transitions. Hubbers may be away this weekend, so I plan on digging deeper into a few blogs - see you then! Lovies, Esther
Julie....for the dishwasher panel you asked about go to www.dishwasherart.com. I saw the ad in Country Sampler magazine....I think they are magnetic but they ALSO hace adhesive ones like Sophie's.......not sure. BTW-I am updating my post LATER today! Blessings, Robin
Could you bring some banana bread over? No, better yet, I'll stop by - then I don't have to clean my house =) Every summer I get the Americana bug. I've been trying to push it off on my sons because it would be so cute to do a boys room in Americana but they'll have none of it. Blessed Wednesday to you... Polly
Polly-my sons' room was originally Americana. There is a huge flag mural on the wall painted by my sister-in-law. There are still a few things left and the rest is just red and blue.
Robin-thank you so much for the information. They sell them in roosters?? Gotta have one.
Great stars! Send some bread over for my coffee! Yum!!
I feel your pain about computers. It is rather scary not knowing what could happen with the simple click of a button. It is sad that others lurk out there with nothing better to do than destroy your computer.
Mine has been filtering a lot of gar-bage. It shut down last night to "protect" it from something. Never know...just never know.
Aggh! I just changed my 'Americana' kitchen over... I have two rusty..REALLY HEAVY METAL...fab red and blue stars, you know the ones they used to use on buildings to mark where the first floor stops and the second begins!! oh gosh, you want 'em I'll make you a deal!!! just email me. I love Americana! I've just had it for like 7 years and I thought it was time for a change for abit...

Father, thank you for the hope that is coming in a manger. Please help me Father, to use this time for renewal and rebirth within my own soul. I pray that the stresses of the world don't penetrate my heart and cloud the beauty and mystery which is the birth of YOUR SON. Help me Father to filter out the stresses that sometimes these wonderful, hope filled days bring, and instead help me to hear and see all that is YOU. I place all of my burdens and stresses at the foot of the cross, knowing that it is in You and Your Son where I will find perfect peace... Thank you Father, for the gift of Your Son.

Oh banana bread! I can smell it from here. Your stars are adorable! I just love the Americana theme.
I love Americana too, as you may have guessed! Glad your computers working again, and hope you find the rooster transfer! xx
Your stars are beautiful, Julie! Reminds me of the decor in my daughter's room in our first house. :)
I'm dieting! You are killing me with the banana bread.
