Hello Everyone!

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Well, things haven't been working out all that well for me these past few weeks. This past Friday, things got even worse. As many of you know, our finances have been in a rough patch lately. And I could deal with that. I am dealing. Praying very hard, but dealing. But that's nothing compared to what happened this past Friday.

My husband woke up at 4 in the morning with an irritation of sorts in his eye. He went downstairs to put eye drops in but couldn't do it himself. Not wanting to wake me up he just came back upstairs and tried to go back to sleep. Well of course I was awake and I asked if he had brought the drops upstairs. He hadn't so I went down and got it. I came back up and put a big drop in his eye. Unfortunately, it turned out to be SUPER GLUE!! I super glued his eye shut.

Now let me explain how that happened. It was 4 am. Jesse had left the super glue out on the coffee table. The bottle is cone-shaped. It also had ZERO writing on it. I was confused and it happened. I took him to the ER and they did NOTHING for him. Actually said there was nothing to do. Well I had called Poison Control and they said that they most certainly should have done something. They could have applied Lubricon which is an oil-based ointment to get the eye open. Or Vaseline or mineral oil. They also should have contacted the opthamologist on call. Well I called him myself and made an appointment for Kenny on Saturday. Dr Zambelli himself called me back and talked with Kenny. Explained again to us what we should be doing and then called back later that evening. He wanted to see Kenny first thing in the morning. At 6:40 am Kenny was in the doctor's office and he got his eye open. Gave him 2 different antibiotics and he goes back again today. But PRAISE THE LORD, there was no damage to his eye. I was hysterical. I thought for sure I had blinded my own husband.

So that's what's been going on here. Please say a prayer for him (for us) and I'll check in again soon. Thanks to everyone for your prayers already. We need them!

O Julie, we both feel so bad this happened, but thank goodness he will be fine. We both will say prayers for him and you and the family.

We've been through some rough patches and know it's hard times, "dealing" with things. You will remain in our thoughts!

Oh Julie...I am so sorry for all that you are going through, and then for the eye incident to happen...how stressful for you both!!

You are a wonderful wife, and it is only because you were kind enough to get out of your warm bed to help your husband that this unfortunate turn of events happened.

I am relieved for you both that his eye is okay. I hope things turn around for you and that brighter days are ahead.

Take care,
Linda xoxo

Oh.My.Word!!! (I said this out loud when I read what happened!) How frightening! I am so sorry. But praise God he is okay. I'll pray for you both.

I'm sorry things are rough for you right now. Believe me, there have been times in my life when it seemed nothing was going right. Just remember God holds us in His rightous right hand and He's there with us in the good times and the bad.

Here's a poem that has always comforted me:

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse,that you must not quit.

Hugs sweet friend!

You know, I've heard of a few people doing this same thing. My mom one time used Ben-Gay instead of toothpaste. And one time I used Neosporin instead of Oral Gel on my babies gums. It's happening to someone as we speak. It's ok hon. As long as he's going to be ok, you'll be ok. And he's going to be ok. Will be praying with you. Hugs, a kiss on the cheek and Blessings.. Polly

I am so glad that Kenny's eye is okay. Praise God for that, certainly it is a small miracle.

Keep your eyes on God and don't get distracted by the stuff the devil sends to trip you up and distract you.

On, Julie.... I just read this post out loud to my husband who was also stunned. Wow. Glad it appears his eye will be ok. Hopefully. SHOCKING that the "ER" couldn't do anything or recommend a course of action. Plus you had to pay boo-ko bucks to hear that! Hang in there, the both of you! With love, Esther (& Artie too)

Dear Julie,

You have just been hit hard lately. I am so sorry. I pray that this will be lifted from you. I am sorry what happened to your husband and not only about the physical strain and emotional strain you went through, but it will mean more doctor bills coming in. I pray things will get better for you. Keep praying and trusting God. Read the Psalms, that's what I read at times like this and it is so comforting.

Hugs to you sweetie, Sharon

Oh Julie, I am so sorry to hear about your horrible experience!

My neice had sort of the same thing happen! She was using eye drops because the heat in their home was drying her eyes and her son whom was 2 at the time picked up the crazy glue that she used for her fake nails and put it in his eye....{trying to be like mommy}
it missed his eye ball, just got the corner of his eye!
That was a BIG learning experience for her and everyone in our family!
I am glad your hubby is ok!

Keep the faith girl!
Things will get better!

Your in my prayers,
Hugz, Dolly
