So, the decorations went up inside yesterday. All but the tree and the outside lights. But that will be done today.
Kenny came home with the garland for the banister and the lights. Up went the stairs and then company came. Kerry and Greg came down. Then Holly and Bill. We played Pictionary, Taboo and Guesstures. We had a great evening. But the Christmas tree still waits to be on display. Oh well. It'll happen today and then I'll take pictures. Or better still, my mom will have to because the cable for my digital camera isn't working. All and all, I'm pretty pleased. Greg even said that it looked like Martha herself stopped over. Now I'm not so naive that I think my house looks like Martha Stewart had a hand in decorating it. But he doesn't know any better, so it was a genuine compliment.
Unfortunately, between decorating and company, again I haven't been around to visit everyone as I should. And today isn't looking much better. My brother and his family are home from SC and today we'll have cake for my nephew's 18th birthday!! It was last Tuesday but they weren't here to celebrate. Then we have to finish the decorations. BUT, there is no Steeler game on today (they play tomorrow night) so maybe this evening I'll have some time. If nothing else...the celebration ends tomorrow and back to the grind we go. The kids still have another day off from school, but Kenny returns to work and the regular routine must begin again. Have a blessed Sunday, everyone!
Blessing of the day: I'm blessed to have good friends who drop over at the drop of a hat. It tells me they always feel welcome and prior arrangements are never necessary.

Hi,
I look forward to seing your house decorated! When I used to live with my parents we would decorate on the 8th of december as my birthday is on the 10th. Mum and me do the tree and dad would put up the high decorations. With my mum changing her mind and pins not stating in, we were also happy when the trimmings were eventually up! ha,ha

Hello Julie,
Can't wait to see your decorating, too! I haven't gotten much accomplished at my home...I did get the fall decorations put away so hopefully this week the Christmas decorations will be displayed in all their glory...lol! Enjoy your day!

Hey Julie, You are way ahead of me. I used to put up a tree on Thanksgiving day nite but somehow that routine got away from me. Can't wait to see photos of your decorations. ~ Lynn
I missed popping in too!!!
Where in SC is your family??
We are Clemson grads...so SC is a second home for us...
the connections are getting crazier and crazier!!!
I always have the cluttered vs. pretty debate...so this year the ROCKIN' SANTA that found it's way to our house, (thanks to a dear neighbor) is playing his Saxaphone in Hayden's ROOM!!:)
enjoy your visit!!
hugs,
lori
Sounds like you have had a similar weekend to mine. I did not put everything out this year either. I just have too much old stuff that I can't part with, but sometimes it does look cluttered if I put it all out.
I know how you feel :)
Is it getting cold there?
Can't wait to see. I amike you wanting a change..not putting things same place and I feel like it is a mess. I wanted to rough.. old time look. I just can't get it.
Good Evening Julie,
I'm sorry to be so late for commenting, but I have been very busy today. Hubby had to leave out late this afternoon and I had laundry to do and cook for hubby and the kids and then cook for the kids again tonight. I hope everything gets back to normal tomorrow where I can post and comment on a regular basis. I decorated yesterday afternoon some more also. It felt like I was running around in circles at times. LOL. I did get my village over here, but it's still yet to be put up. I will work on that hopefully this week. My oldest daughter has 2, maybe 3 or more basketball games this week. So, I'm going to be doing alot of traveling. It has been raining here all day. Well, take care my friend and have a Blessed evening. May God Bless You and Yours.
Hugs,
Karen H.
Can't wait to see pics. I'm sure y'all did a fantastic job. You've got an eye for this sort of thing. :)
And I can't believe it's only 30 days till Christmas! Wow...
Julie, I can't want to see your decorations. I started setting up my village today. Have fun! Michelle
My boxes are now down from the attic. That is a first step, no?
And since I am now the host of a holiday party in two weeks (surprise!), I better get my rear in gear.
I am sure your home will be lovely, how can it not be? Can't wait to see it.
xo,
Melissa

Hi Julie!
I am so happy you had a nice Thanksgiving. See?? No need to worry!!
I am looking forward to seeing your decorations. Good for you for sticking to your guns and trying something a bit different! I started the decorating process myself this weekend (outside at least). Only one month to go!!!

Looking forward to seeing the decorations! I too had a moment of frustration decorating today! My daughter finally just began taking over and voila! it all started to come together! I think sometimes we just need another set of eyes to get a new perspective!
Take care!

Hey Julie...I did what you did...I only put about 1/2 of our ornaments on the tree...the tree is still FULL and you can't even tell that every single ornament we own isn't there!
I am catching up on posts too as this is the first time I have posted since the day before Thanksgiving!
Love,
Robin
Julie, I can't wait to see your decorations! I have no doubts what so ever that they will be totally gorgeous, just like the lovely lady who's arranging them! Don't stress over it all, just have fun and enjoy trying something different.

You are one busy bee Julie! It tires me just to read about it. I am going to plea with your mother to come and get some photos so we can all share in your festive cheer. Hope you wake to an inspired Monday!

Julie, I have missed you! It seems like I am away from home when I can't get on all of my friends blogs. :) I can't wait to see the pictures! It is wonderful that you are able to see so many of your family members!
Can't wit for pictures...
It's great you are having so much company... Sounds fun!
I'm sure your house looks beautiful! Jesse is one smart kid. Ask him in the future for decorating ideas.
