Decorating Day!!
Well it's 8:30 in the morning and all the men in my house are sawing logs. Even though today is Decorating Day, they are still choosing to sleep. Whatever! Sorry boys, but that's about to change. They hate decorating day. Could it be because I have a million decorations? Could it be because I become some deranged Nazi about where and how things are supposed to go? Could it be because I yell and scream at them to get up off of the ground and start helping, only to rearrange what they do? No. I'm perfect. I'm completely rational and sane. It's them. They're lazy. And they have no Christmas spirit. Whereas my demeanor is perfectly in tune with the Christmas spirit (hangs head in shame.)
I try, really I do. But...it never works out. Something invariably sets me off and it's never a good scene. BUT - I'm going to give it my best effort today. After I drag their butts out of bed that it is...

My husband decided to rearrange the garage today as opposed to helping much with decorating. I don't see why the garage was such a priority. Men...

Crack that whip, Julie. LOL
You'll have to post pictures once you get your house decorated. Y'all are going to do a fantastic job. :)
Good Morning Julie,
Hmmmm, now that sounds very familiar. LOL. No, not really. Hubby doesn't like the part of having to drag everything out and setting the tree up, but he does enjoy decorating the tree with our girls. The other night when we put our tree up, I was sitting on the couch unpacking the decoratins and sorting them out and also telling them where certain decorations needed to go. LOL. Tell them guys to get up, give them a cup of coffee, and tell them it's time to get to work. LOL. Anyway, take care my friend and have a great Saturday. May God Bless You and Yours.
Hugs,
Karen H.
Good Luck, Julie!! Can't wait to see :-)
LOL...good luck with all the decorating...can't wait to see pictures!
Have a very blessed day!

We usually decorate today... We don't have much left in the way of Christmas decorations after The Storm, and there is someone giving away trees next Saturday at a Christmas Festival here in town, so we will wait... Isaiah bought a small tree at a garage sale this summer, and a string of lights, so he has that set up... lol
HAve a great day!
Haha!! You made me laugh reading this!!! Can't wait to see how it all turns out and it's good to be back here visiting you!!xx
YOU are such a RIOT!!! You sound just like me!! cant wait to see pics!!
Julie,
I have to do it all myself. I would much rather crack the whip and make them clean something, unload the dishwasher, or make me a snack! LOL! Their idea of decorating just isn't what I have in mind. And most of them don't want to help anyways. That can make for an unpleasant scene.
But it is fun to gather everyone around LATER for some hot chocolate and games. :-) Trust me on this one, it is better to go solo on the decorating. You'll do great.
Have fun,
Melissa
I sure know how that is Julie. They love it AFTER I work my butt off.I am still at it adding things and can't get any help outside. My Rian was always make christmas man.
Goodluck.
LOl You go girl! Someone has to be the leader!
I remember every Christmas growing up, my dad trying to untangle the lights from the year before.....not a pretty picture - lol.

Sandi said 'crack that whip' and now Devo's song "Whip It" is in my head. hah hah. oy... that is not Christmas music Hat. Get it t'gethuh!
I am a decorating fool today. My cat is in heaven in all of these boxes and bundles of tissue paper. It's embarrassingly cute.
Hi Julie, hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ah yes, now comes the time to set up Christmas decorations...I better get on that myself this week. Enjoy all of your holidays.
Girl you are a hoot!!! LOL:) I hope your decorating day is peaceful...or at least productive!
Love ya,
Rhonda
Good luck with your decorating Julie. We put up out tree next week so I can't wait for that. Have a good weekend.
I have decided it is much easier for me to do it myself. I haven't started yet though. I have to get motivated.
I barely have time to write this...I'm too busy shouting orders to dear hubby about where THAT goes and how THAT should hang!
heheheee...It's all in good fun, tho.
Don't work too hard....

You and my beautiful, but stressed wife would SOOOO GET ALONG!! She has three giant waterproof storage bins FULL of Christmas stuff!
Her name's Julie too. Cool, huh?
PS: You keep playing this guitar music on your blog and I'm going to just keep it open all day on my computer!!
:)
You are so funny Julie.
It is decorating day around here too.
Hope you get it all done.
Rosemary
Julie...Like you, I have TOO much Christmas stuff...but then again, can one ever have too much...so...I start the week before Thanksgiving, getting the snowmen out one day, the santas out another day, the nativities a 3rd day, etc. That way, lots of it gets done before we even sit down for turkey!
I started yesterday and after a trip to Michaels, I was decorating again today! J made me quit about 5pm, but I'll be off and running again, tomorrow. I can see the finish line....that is....unless...I decide.....to add a thing or two!!
Pat
Oh, I hope you had a good day! You'll have to share pics of what the you guys did... I know it will look pretty!
WOW! how exciting!
LOL! hehehehe hahahahahaha mmmmmmmm............yep, I can relate to this post! lol I think my eyes actually turn red while we're decorating! I KNOW my face does! lol
Amanda (aka Cottage Contessa)
Christmas Nazi..LOL!!
My people call me the Party Nazi...every party I throw (even my child's birthday parties) all turn in to a rant by me to do it all MY WAY!!
Oh, how funny! My kids usually like to decorate -- put some Christmas music on and make some hot chocolate. Of course, I go around the next day and "tweak" everything. LOL
Glad you had such a great Thanksgiving. I'm so sick of turkey -- I swear we're having Baked Ziti next year!
xoxo,
Mary
