The Celebration is Over and is About to Begin

C 15
So, the dinner has been eaten, the laughter has endured and our blessings are still plentiful. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was a little nervous. I had never made an entire Thanksgiving meal by myself. Normally, between my sister, my sister-in-law and myself we each make a few things and the meal comes together. Well this year, my sister stayed in South Carolina for Thanksgiving since she will be coming up at Christmas. And my brother and his family traveled to see her and her family. So I was going to make the entire meal. And like I said, I was nervous. But I tried to put things into perspective. I make Christmas dinner by myself. But I guess because I was used to that meal, it never seemed daunting. This one did. But I think I pulled it off. We had the turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, broccoli-rice and cheese, mixed vegetables, green bean casserole and biscuits. Plus cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie, compliments of my parents.

Kerry and Greg came down (the boys' mom and fiance) after dinner and we played games all night. It was a wonderful day and I am so thankful that we were all able to share in it. It'll take me a while to get caught up with all my reading...so please wait for me. I'll be around, I promise. But it's time for a little more fun - I think the boys and I will play a few more games. Because it's all work tomorrow. The Christmas decorations go up!!

Blessing of the day: I'm blessed to have time to play with my children. They won't be little forever.

Good Morning Julie,
I'm so glad yall had a great Thanksgiving. You menu sounds delicious. I've never had stuffing. I have always made homemade dressing. Hubby loves it. In fact, my dressing is the only dressing he will eat. LOL. We had a wonderful time with my parents and sister. We all ate too much. Then, yesterday afternoon late, we put our tree up and hubby and girls decorated it. It is just beautiful. I still have some more decorating to do. I am planning on posting some pictures of our tree in the next few days or so. There is alot of work put into decorating and all. I am doing laundry this morning. I slept in today. I may post later on. It is cold here this morning. It is 38 degrees with a windchill of 30 degrees. Well, take care my friend and have a great Friday. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

Okay, I'm coming over to YOUR house next year Julie!!! Sounds like you made all of my favorites!!! Glad to hear it all went great and I had no doubts you could do it! Anyone who whips up homemade spaghetti sauce and all the other wonderful things you make, can easily conquer Thanksgiving! (Basically, I can do it and I'm not much of a cook...so I knew you could!!!) Have a great weekend!

Sounds like you pulled off a great meal! Also sounds like you had a great time playing games all night. We are a big 'board game family' too. Sometimes we have all nighters. In the past few years we have had so much fun with the Cranium games. Have you tried those? They are a blast.
I am decorating for Christmas tomorrow too!

Oh, YOU are so awesome. I could not believe that Mr. Silver Bell did EVERYTHING...I really was not expecting that...but he just sort of took off and did fantastically. I am still so, so, so proud of him. Who knew?! :) I think he is still basking....

Hi Julie, I just know your Thanksgiving dinner was fabulous and so happy you all had a grand time. We had a big crowd this year...the dinner was great, the weather just picture perfect and the fellowship extra special. ~ Lynn

Glad you had a great day! I've only done Thanksgiving all by myself once, and I simplified everything but it still turned out great. Amazing what you can do if you have to! Good work!

I probably won't get my tree until next week so no decorating yet at my house. :-) Soon, though! Now that we got it clean for Thanksgiving! LOL!

Sounds like you did good on the dinner!

I (for the first time) decorated for Christmas LAST weekend. It's always been our tradition to decorate on Friday... Can I tell you how much I'm loving having that done already?!
